Call for Papers: KUAS PDW on Management in Japan
Purpose:
This PDW aims to provide early-career researchers studying management phenomena in Japan (technology, firms, society, etc.) with opportunities to receive feedback from distinguished scholars who have published extensively in top journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Organization Science.
Additionally, the PDW will offer networking opportunities with researchers both in Japan and internationally.
The second iteration of this PDW welcomes both virtual and in-person participation at KUAS.
Professor Gwendolyn Lee and organizers Tetsuya Aoki (Hitotsubashi University) and Takahiro Inada (Kyoto University of Advanced Science) will be attending in person.
Eligibility: Doctoral students and early-career researchers conducting management research on management phenomena in Japan (technology, firms, society, etc.). Master’s students planning to enroll in a Ph.D. program are also eligible.
Date & Time: April 30 (Wednesday), 9:30-11:40 (JST)
Online or On-site (KUAS Uzumasa Campus)
Schedule: 9:30-10:30 Session 1: Panel Discussion
The Journey to the First Publication: Challenges and Lessons Learned Even for scholars who have published extensively in top journals, there was always a first paper. How did their first project begin? What challenges did they face, and what did they learn from them? Two distinguished scholars will share their experiences and reflections on their early publishing journey. (Open to all participants)
10:40-11:40 Session 2: Individual Feedback Each participant will be assigned to a mentor in groups of up to two participants per mentor. They will receive individual feedback on their work (only for those who submit a paper or abstract in advance and are accepted). Note: Some mentors may not be available on the day of the event, in which case scheduling will be adjusted individually.
